house

Every morning once I've managed to peel myself away from my weird dreams, (kind of) brushed my hair, and had a decent breakfast, I complete my morning routine by checking the Westwing* app on my phone.

Westwing* is a 'members only' website which caters to several European countries (and Brazil) with daily deals on home goods and furniture. I'd been on the Dutch site for a few months, but hadn't ordered anything until we recently moved house in early May. We doubled our space (hallelujah!); allowing the flood gates to open for cute new items for our house.

The Tallow candle by Ontwerpduo

Not a huge discount, but every penny counts and I love this design.  The candle came in its original packaging from Ontwerpduo and is seamlessly molded. I'll probably never be able to bring myself to lighting it for fear of ruining the design, but it looks great on a side-table with other decorations. Find out more about the design on their website.

I always hate having to run and grab my phone and I don't want to have it constantly on me anyway (digital attachment, blah blah). So, I've been looking for some nice wall clocks. Westwing constantly has beautiful, designer clocks in all kinds of colors and styles. I totally fell for this one which comes in a few other colors. It fits right in our new bookcase in the study corner.

Copper hanging lamp 'Boston' by Trio Leuchten

Ah, the star of the show. What a beauty, huh? When we moved into our new house, we knew we wanted to make a dining area which would be really 'gezellig'. We found a round table on Marktplaats (Dutch eBay) which could fit a few more people than our previous set-up.

In this room, we've got pretty high ceilings; so, a large, hanging statement lamp would look amazing. Luckily, Westwing has literally hundreds of lamps on offer every single day! Like everyone with an Instagram account, I've been really into the copper/rose gold trend. The lamp brings color and texture into the room and I feel like copper is much easier to match than full-on gold or platinum.

Needless, to say, I am in LOVE. So happy with this one and I think it's a pretty decent deal we got for it. The lamp is super heavy and very high quality. Perfection.

All You Need is Love canvas print from Junique

pandalove

Original price: €65.00
Westwing price: €32.00

Westwing also features a ton of digital prints and artwork on canvas or poster, at different price ranges. I've passed on the more expensive options (€500!!!), but already bought around six fairly-priced prints so far. This adorable panda canvas is great quality and was delivered without any bumps or bruises.

Quick interjection: I have to say, Westwing takes a ton of care in packaging the items...maybe too much. They use sturdy boxes and tons of bubble and cardboard protective wrap. A few times I was annoyed at how big the box was because it almost seemed wasteful. Still can't complain knowing your stuff won't arrive all banged up.

Adorable little cactus vase! I've been looking around for some high quality fake flowers which I can pop in there, but it also looks very cute as is. And, another print for my gallery wall. Love the graphic design!

So, is Westwing worth it?

For the convenience, bit of discount (sometimes up to 70% off), and great assortment, I'm still convinced! I feel like the website does a great job of creating inspiring and creative sale bundles which cater to many different interior design tastes and styles.

Sometimes it's really a bummer when the best stuff sells out first thing in the morning, but the website often brings things back into the sale days or weeks later. And, with a bit of clever googling, you can often find the products on another website.

I only wish there were more websites offering flash deals in the Netherlands! If you're interested in trying Westwing, you can sign up here on their website*.

You'll be helping to fuel my home goods obsession. :)
